Prep
work began at 12:00 noon as bread was laid out for the
broilers.
|
Salads
were prepared and wrapped so that our customers could go
quickly through the line and not have to wait.
|
 |
 |
We
even mixed up our own special spaghetti sauce (we'll
never reveal the secret).
|
Several
homemade desserts were donated. Here we had cut them all
up into individual servings and wrapped ready for
serving.
|
 |
 |
We
took time-out from preparations around 3:30 p.m. to meet
with Representative Craig Ford who stopped in to visit.
|
Craig
took time to explain to us that he and Senator Means had
combined their money last year when they donated to the
Band Boosters. Due to miscommunication at the school, we
did not realize that Craig had a part in the
contribution.
|
 |
 |
At
the end of our discussion, Craig surprised us with
another contribution of $1,000.00 for our band uniforms.
Please be sure to express your thanks to Representative
Ford and Senator Means for all the support they have
shown us this year.
|
Back
in the kitchen, Char helped wrap the remaining servings
of cake as we prepared to open the doors for customers
waiting outside.
|
| |
|
After
everyone was fed, we quickly cleaned up the kitchen and
went home. Another successful fundraiser came to a close.
We served a little over 100 people and had several
donations made to the tip jar.
|
We
also want to acknowledge the assistance of Lisa Smith
Patterson (EHS Class of 1981). She works at the Stowers
Hill lunchroom and volunteered her own time to supervise
us at the EMS lunchroom. Lisa, and her manager Barbara,
were very valuable to us all night and we could not have
done this without them!
